Children's art auction in Kitzbühel "From child to child" achieves three times as much as expected:

Nicoletta Plumm had the idea of making Easter Sunday 2022 in Kitzbühel's city centre more than just a cheerful get-together with an Easter Bunny programme.

Thanks to her initiative, the children's art auction "From Child to Child" came into being for the first time. With ever-increasing 2 Euro bids, auctioneer Florentine Rosemeyer, put her charm and the eagerly donating audience to good work, and tripled the expected total proceeds for three A4-sized children's artworks. These were created a mere hour beforehand at the Lisi Family Hotel children's art workshop on Easter Sunday in the centre of Kitzbühel, together with artist Simone Opdahl. And because this is a cause they also care deeply about, Plumm and Rosemeyer made a donation themselves after the auction and used this as an opportunity to collect more money from the locals, regular Kitzbühel guests and enthusiasts. Moreover, Kitzbühel Water Rescue Service, Lisi Family Hotel and Aurach Wildlife Park all donated vouchers. In total, they handed over cash and non-cash donations worth approx.1,000 euros! “We want to bring smiles to the faces of children who are having a hard time,” says Nicoletta Plumm.
Elisabeth Pircher and Barbara Bärnthaler from the Red Cross food bank are entrusted with the task of handing these gifts over to needy families with children.

It was also important for Plumm and Rosemeyer to raise awareness amongst more fortunate children, that it is possible to help others at a very young age and that it is even fun. The youngest artist, Heidi, is 2 years old, and her painting was selected because it is powerful and conveys joy and strength. "Art is a wonderful tool to communicate across all divides. Art knows no language and yet everyone understands it and enjoys it," says art historian Florentine Rosemeyer.
